While it is highly recommended to buy organic when it is available and affordable, not everyone has access to organic foods, or it may simply be out of their budget. The Environmental Working Group came out with a list of foods that contain the least amount of pesticide residues.

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment. They research what’s in our tap water, the safety of our cosmetics, genetically modified organisms (GMO / GE), and the amounts of pesticides in and on our food, among other things. All fruits and vegetables listed under the Clean 15 are good options when trying to prioritize your grocery budget.

Keep these two list handy the next time you are grocery shopping in order to help in prioritizing your budget!
